Darkroom Conversation: Curator Richard Torchia

The early steps of an art career are not easy to take. Many of us emerge from photography programs without the professional experience or the personal connections necessary to propel us to the next level. The art world can be an intimidating place, inhabited by countless competing artists, as well as a host of other players. One of the major challenges facing emerging photographers is unfamiliarity with the professionals who are instrumental in exhibiting, selling, publishing, and promoting artwork.

Richard Torchia, director of Arcadia University Art Gallery in Glenside, PA, is interested in closing the gap between artists and curators. He sat down with us and shared his insight. Check it out!
